The Atelier — IKORA Cairo | Couture, RTW & GCC Concierge

The Ikora House · Atelier

A quiet address in Cairo.

IKORA operates from a small design studio and appointment-only client corner in Cairo. We are not a factory. We are the address that connects the Margilan weavers to the Cairo cutting table, and the Cairo table to your wardrobe.

What happens here

Every IKORA capsule starts with a design in Cairo, moves through fabric sourcing in Uzbekistan, comes back to our cutting layout, and returns to a partner workshop in Cairo for sewing — before we personally inspect and finish every piece before it ships. Four stages, one atelier, one signature at the end.

i.
Sourced

Directly from the weavers in Margilan. Each bolt inspected on arrival — narrow-loom ikat cannot hide its flaws.

ii.
Cut

Patterns engineered around 40-centimetre widths. The medallion sits centred, never split, in every finished piece.

iii.
Sewn

Cairo partner-workshop construction with couture proportions — precise shoulder, considered length, generous sleeve.

iv.
Finished

Every piece inspected against a written specification. Nothing leaves the atelier without our stamp.

"We do not produce speculatively. Every bolt of fabric is ordered against confirmed demand."

How we work with clients

IKORA operates on three channels — each with its own rhythm.

Ready-to-wear

Small-run capsules across kimonos, resort sets, blouses and dresses. Available online and through select Cairo boutique partners. Once a capsule sells through, it is closed.

Made-to-order couture

Couture pieces — gowns, opera capes, kaftans in atlas silk — are cut against your measurements after a private appointment at the atelier. A fifty-per-cent deposit confirms the commission; the piece is delivered within four to six weeks.

GCC concierge

For clients in the Gulf, appointments are held twice a year in Dubai. Between visits, a personal WhatsApp concierge handles fittings by video, deliveries, and the couture waitlist. Our discipline

Three principles guide how the atelier operates.

Small runs, closed editions

Every capsule is a fixed edition. When it sells through it is retired. We do not repeat capsules and we do not restock. A piece from the 2026 spring capsule cannot be reordered in 2027.

One hundred per cent inspection

Every finished piece is inspected in-house against a written specification — construction, finishing, pattern alignment, fabric integrity. Fewer than four per cent of pieces need rework, and none ship until they pass.

No wholesale on couture

Couture pieces are made to order and sold direct from the atelier only. Boutique partners carry the ready-to-wear and outerwear tiers — never the couture.
